The Music Makes it

“The velvet tones of Albert Jones”

Tom Robinson, BBC 6 Music / London

Hailing from deep in the heart of Shropshire, and now sharing his time between the French Alps and the folk-infused depths of Cornwall, Al is an authentic British singer-songwriter. With his easy charm, road-worn voice and modern folk sound, Al can work any crowd.

Al has been duly touring the South West circuit for years, playing to sell-out crowds at venues like the Eden Project in support of international stars such as Jack Johnson and Paolo Nutini. The excited buzz around his shows in the Alps have earned him support gigs for KT Tunstall, Newton Faulkner and Squeeze at both the Altitude and Little World festivals.

After a great year of new releases, including airplay on BBC Radio 2 (Dermot O’Leary show), BBC 6 Music (Tom Robinson, BBC Introducing Mixtape) and great reviews on Fresh On The Net. His debut album, Come Alive, has just been released to critical acclaim. The future is looking very bright indeed for this humble but most impressive British musical talent.
